Our Lady of the Rosary & the Battle of Lepanto – Faith in Action co-hosts Corky Aiken and Gordon Smith talk with their guest, Jonathan Conrad, Owner of The Catholic Woodworker about the Rosary, and in particular how men need to step it up in praying the Rosary with their families. The infamous 1571 naval Battle of Lepanto is discussed for which the October 7th feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is named. Formerly known as Our Lady of Victory, Pope Pius V attributed the victory of that battle to those in the Holy League praying the Rosary as they went into battle. GO REBUILD MY CHURCH: Rebuilding a Missional Church-Part I (Encore)
Friday Sep 29, 2023
Friday Sep 29, 2023
Rebuilding a Missional Church-Part I - This week, Peter and Leslie begin a new series of broadcasts, Rebuilding a Missional Church! The era of church history in which we find ourselves today, was prophesied by then Fr. Joseph Ratzinger in 1969. The future pope saw a Church on the horizon that would be much different than the one at the height of Christendom. He saw a time coming where the numbers of adherents dwindled, and great changes came to the institutional structures. Yet, in the midst of tremendous change and attrition, there would arise a new army of Saints and a Church marked by true spirituality and Holy Spirit power. This indeed is the time in which we find ourselves. This series will challenge all of us to become disciples of Jesus Christ so that we can indeed join ourselves to the great mission the Lord has in store for His People. This series will be a life - changer!

GO REBUILD MY CHURCH: Rebuilding a Missional Church-Part VI
Friday Sep 22, 2023
Friday Sep 22, 2023
Rebuilding a Missional Church-Part VI - This week, Peter and Leslie continue their series of broadcasts, Rebuilding a Missional Church! After encountering the Lord Jesus, the next step is building a personal relationship with Him. That relationship will become the basis for us to develop "our story" of how Jesus changed our lives. The question becomes, when and where does the Lord want me to share my story? How will I know the time is right? Sacred Scripture teaches a powerful metaphor-the Open Door! Over 400 times the bible speaks of or alludes to "doors." St. Paul teaches us in the book of Colossians that "doors" are opportunities for spreading the Good News. Listen as the Doanes help make it very clear and practical on the "when" and "where" God gives us an open door!
